Book editing
Anyone can write a book. Making writing publishable is an art form. That’s where I come in.
I work with writers who know what they want to say but need help saying it clearly, confidently, and in a way that holds the reader. Writers who care about voice, intention, and craft, and want their work to stand up to close reading.
Depending on where you are in the process, I support your manuscript in different ways.
- Developmental editing: Think of me as your manuscript’s personal trainer. I help your work flex its muscles by strengthening structure, clarity, and focus. Together, we refine ideas, arguments, and themes so your writing carries its full weight.
- Copyediting/line editing: This is where the language gets close attention. I smooth rough sentences, tighten the tone, sharpen word choices, and improve consistency without sanding down your voice.
- Proofreading: The final pass. I catch sneaky typos, grammatical slips, punctuation errors, and formatting issues. This is to give your work a clean, professional finish.
I work across a wide range of styles and formats. I’ve edited memoirs, novels, personal development and self-help books, short story collections, and poetry anthologies. I also edit shorter pieces, including essays, short stories, and poems.
I provide book editing services in Rwanda, particularly for writers based in the country, while also working with authors worldwide. I also collaborate with fellow editors in Rwanda and beyond whenever teamwork or specialised expertise is needed, ensuring your project gets the support it deserves.
